Eric S (Eric Essebag) guitarist/composer was born in New York City in 1988.
He moved to Hungary at the age of 7.While at boarding school at the age of 14 and becoming interested in rock music, he picked up his first guitar. Becoming more enamored of R’n’B, and soul music, at the age of 18 Eric decided to attend jazz conservatory to further advance his connection with music. His biggest motivation has been creating and composing his own songs. He developed and organized a ten member band directing and arranging his own compositions. The ensemble worked successfully for several years, but disbanded before completing it’s first album. After graduating from conservatory Eric moved back to New York City to further his career as a musician, developing a second career as a nutrition and fitness specialist. These two passions make him one. Today Eric continues his various music ventures by doing studio work and collaborating with the many artist in the New York City area.
This has brought him closer to his mission, which is building his own music project.
In the summer of 2012 Eric met Akua at a band audition.
Although the band was short-lived, the connections and friendships flourished.
Akua ( Akua Wilder) was Born and raised in East Harlem in 1988 and began singing at the tender age of four. Not shy, it wasn’t until she began belting out songs in a style surpassing most current artist today that people began to realize she needed to be heard. Akua has a passion for music that crosses all genres, from rock to pop, funk, soul, and R’n’B. Her style is not limited to one sound, and she can’t be placed in one category. A songwriter as well, Akua attended Fiorello LaGaurdia School for performing Arts as a vocal major, where she studied all forms of music and theory. Akua has closed out talent competitions and has even made it to the top 5 in Empire Casino’s “Lucky Break” which aired twice every Sunday on New York and New Jersey channels. She also attended Harlem School of the Arts for musical theatre where she learned to showcase her musical abilities in various acting roles. With the creative and electrifying passion Eric and Akua have for music, it’s only a matter of time before “As Is” will be heard all over the world.
